Crafted with a simple yet elegant design, the Aeolus CP001-S notebook cooler offers a single gigantic 25cm fan, encased in an all-aluminum chassis and which brings the term “sleekness” to another level. The futuristic chassis offers not only efficient cooling, but also an important ergonomic feature which helps tender hardcore typist – a full sized wrist rest.

First Impressions
While taking the cooler out of its packaging, the cool, metallic chassis struck us as being an extremely robust cooler. Being constructed almost entirely of aluminum and steel, the cooler was surprisingly light. The fan was encased in a plastic housing unit that is strong enough to hold the fan in place, but still exhibited a fair amount of flex. This doesn’t seem to pose any threat to the overall build quality since most users tend to pick up and carry a cooler by its corners and sides.
The Cooling Surface and Cooling System
Like many great coolers, the cooling surface of the CP001-S is composed of steel mesh; this is one of the best materials to be used in a notebook cooler due to the physical properties of steel compared to plastic alternatives. The fan spins at a relatively low RPM even on the high setting, but despite the low RPM, it’s enough to efficiently cool most overheating notebooks. One of the great benefits of having such a large fan is how the airflow is evenly distributed through the cooling surface; in other words, the CP001-S cooler will suit a wide range of notebook sizes, brands and models without having the user worry about the alignment of the fan and notebook intakes.

The Sides
Summarized in one word, the sides of the cooler are “simplistic”. Nothing fancy and unnecessary are present.
The Base and Back
The bottom of the cooler is literally non-existent and exposes the fan. Elongated rubber feet are attached to the four corners of the cooler to improve the friction between the cooler and desk surface. The back of the unit is outfitted with a USB port (for powering the cooler), a fan switch and a LED toggle. Like all the coolers we’ve reviewed, the USB port has a fair amount of wiggle room when connected to a USB cable.
Benchmarks
Portability
The CP001-S cooler is light and slim enough to be carried around effortlessly. However, due to the extended width attributed to the wrist rest, it may not fit in all notebook carrying cases, especially in bags that are designed to fit 15.4” or smaller notebooks.
As we briefly mentioned in the above section, there is no bottom panel that covers the fan. This limits the cooler to be used on only hard and flat surfaces. Using the cooler on your lap or bed would be out of the question

If the audio connectors are in front of the notebook can they be still used? From the pics it looks like no.

Hi there PasseBy,
The audio connectors would not be accessible if they are in the front. There is a loophole which works for most:

Using a bent headphone cable or extension cable. Some users are already going this.

Hello. I’d like to know wheather this cooler blows the air up towards the notebook, or down to the table.. I think it’s important to synchronize the direction of the air with NB’s fan..

Hi Racky
The cooler blows air up towards the bottom of the notebook.
